Another great way for parents, guardians, and family friends to get involved in the Troop is to become a Merit Badge counselor for one or more of the almost 140 merit badges offered by the Scouts BSA program.
As a Merit Badge counselor, Scouts from our Troop (or even Council-wide) can reach out to you to help them earn a Merit Badge. You’ll get to work with the Scout to fit the merit badge into your schedules.
Becoming a Merit Badge counselor requires you to complete an Adult Member application and a short merit badge application for. Instructions on how to complete these steps are included in the Reference Information section below.
Merit Badge counselors are considered registered Registered Adult leaders so they can attend any Troop activities to help support the two-deep leadership required by the BSA’s Youth Protection guidelines.
