Preparing for your meeting
During your Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review, we’ll review the Scout skills you have learned for the new and all earlier ranks. Spend some time reviewing the requirements in your Scout Handbook and remembering what you have learned about them.
Doc Wahl has been kind enough to make a master list of the questions that will be asked on a Scoutmaster’s conference for Eagle. This packet is a great study guide for either Scoutmaster’s Conferences or Board of Reviews for any rank past First Class. The political questions will need to be attended to by you, the scout, after downloading this packet. You can download the document from the Shared Documents in TroopTrack.
What to Wear
Wear your full Class A uniform. This includes:
- Khaki uniform shirt
- Merit Badge Sash
- Order of the Arrow Sash (if applicable)
- Neckerchief and slide
- Scout Pants/Shorts and Belt (or pants/shorts/belts in good repair)
- All patches properly applied in the correct location
Remember, you are representing Scouts across the world when you are wearing your uniform. You should look as presentable as possible with your shirt tucked in and uniform pieces presented neatly.
What to Bring
- Your Scout Handbook (with all requirements signed off except for Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review)
- Any gear you may need to demonstrate the Scout skills you have learned for the new and all earlier ranks.
- This may include rope to tie knots/lashings, first aid kit/gear, flag, map and compass, and poles/staves for lashings depending on the rank requirements.
- If you don’t have access to a piece of gear, it may be available in the Troop closet, from another Scout, or from me with advance notice.
- The Scout Motto is Be Prepared. It is your responsibility to provide this gear. The adult leaders will not have this gear with them.
