Growing your Scout Account Balance with our Hanging Basket Sale

Makes a GREAT Mothers Day Gift

Every spring, our Troop sells tickets good for a 10 inch hanging basket or non-bulk product of equivalent price at J.E. Mussig Greenhouses in Zelienople.  (Excludes bulk items like mulch.)

Tickets must be redeemed in the month of May in the year in which they are purchased.

A portion of each ticket directly supports the Scout selling the ticket and enables them to fund their Scouting adventures.

We are once again excited to run this fundraiser as a Troop. With spring upon us, many people are looking to enhance their landscaping with new flower and this fundraiser is an excellent way to do that AND support our Scouting adventures.

Scouts who are interested in participating in this sale will be issued tickets in packs of 10 that can be sold to family, friends, and neighbors. One ticket is $23 and a portion (amount to be announced) of each ticket sold will be credited to your Scout account at the end of the sale.

Please note:

  • Tickets can be sold as soon as you receive them, but can only be redeemed in the month of May.
  • Scouts will only be issued tickets if they plan to participate in the fundraiser.
  • We encourage getting out and selling your tickets early to maximize the time your customers have to use their tickets.
  • We can order additional tickets if there is sufficient demand, but only if we have sold out of other tickets.
  • The cost of unsold tickets that are not returned by DEADLINE will be charged to your Scout Account.

The Importance of RSVPing for Our Events

In the world of Scouting, where adventure, learning, and community service intertwine, the success of each event lies in the meticulous planning and preparation by leaders and volunteers. From outdoor expeditions to community service projects, each event is designed to offer Scouts an enriching experience. However, the foundation of a successful event begins with something seemingly simple yet profoundly important: the RSVP.

Why RSVP Matters

At the heart of every scouting event, from troop meetings that require specific preparations to large-scale outdoor adventures, lies the challenge of planning. This challenge is magnified when the number of attendees remains unknown. An accurate headcount is not just a number; it’s the key to ensuring that resources are adequately allocated, that activities are scaled correctly, and that everyone has a memorable and safe experience.

Understanding RSVP Deadlines

Recognizing the importance of planning, scouting events that require an RSVP set clear deadlines. These are not arbitrary dates but rather critical checkpoints for event organizers to make necessary reservations and preparations. The troop sends several reminders leading up to this deadline, emphasizing that changes post-deadline cannot always be accommodated. This is especially true for events requiring per-person bookings. Early RSVPs are not just appreciated; they are essential. They provide a preliminary headcount that shapes the event’s planning stages. In TroopTrack, a tool many troops use, RSVPs are straightforward, allowing members to indicate their attendance or absence, ensuring that everyone is accounted for.

RSVPs for Troop Meetings

While regular troop meetings might not always require an RSVP, there are exceptions. Special meetings that need an accurate headcount or those that differ from the routine schedule will prompt a reminder for members to confirm their attendance. This ensures that no scout misses out on important events due to a lack of information.

How to RSVP Using TroopTrack

TroopTrack simplifies the RSVP process. Members can navigate to the event details, where they’ll find an RSVP card. This card allows members to indicate their attendance, add guests, and include any relevant comments. This system streamlines the process, ensuring that organizers have all the necessary information, from attendance numbers to special requirements.

Beyond TroopTrack: Other RSVP Methods

Sometimes, scouting events have specific needs that TroopTrack can’t address. For instance, an event might require additional information from attendees, like ski trip rentals and lesson requirements. In such cases, troops might use alternative methods, such as online forms, to gather this essential information. Instructions for these alternative RSVP methods are always clearly provided, ensuring that every member has the opportunity to participate fully.

Conclusion

In scouting, every adventure, meeting, and project is a building block in the development of young individuals. The act of RSVPing, though seemingly small, plays a pivotal role in this developmental journey. It ensures that every event can be tailored to the needs and numbers of those attending, fostering an environment where every scout can thrive. So, as we continue to embark on these adventures together, let’s remember the significance of a simple RSVP. It’s not just about saying you’ll be there; it’s about being part of a community that values preparation, respect, and the shared joy of scouting experiences.
