Hello, Troop 457! Welcome to this week’s podcast episode. As we wrap up February and look forward to the adventures March will bring, let’s dive into some crucial reminders and deadlines that need our attention.

UPCOMING RSVP DEADLINES

First up, a final reminder about the upcoming Sled Packing Trip on Saturday, March 16th. If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, you have until March 5th to do so. This trip promises to be an exciting blend of winter fun and Scouting skills, so make sure to sign up if you haven’t already.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Next on our list, for everyone who participated in our Zroni Roll fundraiser, remember to pick up your orders in the parking lot of ELC on Friday, March 8 starting at 6 PM. If you can’t make it, it’s your responsibility to arrange for someone else to pick up your orders. There’s additional information on TroopTrack, so be sure to check that out if you need more details.

March 12th is quickly approaching, and with it, the last day to complete rank advancement and merit badges to be guaranteed recognition at our Court of Honor. I encourage you to finalize any outstanding requirements with your Merit Badge counselors and schedule your Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review as soon as possible. While we’ll try to accommodate advancements completed after this date, we can’t guarantee they’ll be awarded at the Court of Honor.

For those looking forward to Summer Camp at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation, remember to start collecting Pipestone Wood. It’s a unique requirement for the camp’s honors program and something you’ll want to prepare for ahead of time. Check the show notes for a guide to Pipestone wood and all the upcoming events requiring an RSVP.

REFLECTING ON OUR QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Now, let’s take a moment to reflect on this week’s inspirational quote from Aristotle: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

Aristotle’s wisdom beautifully captures the essence of Scouting. As we learn and master new skills, we’re encouraged to practice them repeatedly until they become second nature. This philosophy is at the heart of our rank advancement process. By turning these skills into habits, we prepare ourselves not just for Scouting, but for life. When faced with challenges, we don’t need to hesitate; we can rely on the habits of excellence we’ve developed.

This quote reminds us that Scouting is more than just an activity; it’s a journey towards excellence. Each step we take, each skill we learn, and each habit we form brings us closer to realizing our full potential.

NEXT WEEK’S ACTIVITIES

Grab your bricks and get ready to unleash your creativity as we dive into the incredible world of LEGO Stop Motion Movie Making during next week’s Troop Meeting on Tuesday, March 5! Whether you’re a director at heart or a budding animator, there’s a role for everyone in bringing our epic Lego tales to life.

From scriptwriting to editing, and even adding special effects, you’ll discover the magic behind the movies while checking off some key requirements for the Movie Making, Animation, and Photography merit badges!
Check TroopTrack for the latest information on what you should bring to the meeting but make sure you bringΒ your imagination so we can create some movie magic.
Thank you for tuning in to this week’s episode. Let’s keep striving for excellence in all that we do, making every action count towards building a stronger, more skilled, and confident self. See you next week, and happy Scouting!
