Hello and welcome to ‘The Troop 457 Scoutmaster Minute’ for Wednesday December 6, 2023. I’m Mr. Maloney, here to give you the latest news and updates from our Troop. Let’s dive in.
Congratulations
First off, a big shout-out to Xander who completed his Tenderfoot Scoutmaster Conference last night. Also, kudos to Orion who completed the Family Life merit badge. He is also nearly complete with his Eagle Scout project. There are a few final touches needed to complete the project, so keep an eye out for a TroopTrack invite to help him wrap up his project.
BREAKING NEWS: Change to 2024 Event Calendar
Breaking news: we have a schedule change for our upcoming campouts. The ‘Do Nothing Campout’ originally planned for March will now take place in January, and the sled packing activity is shifted to March. Updates on the January Campout will be posted to TroopTrack soon.
RSVP Reminders
Up next, a few important RSVP reminders:
- Today, December 6, is the last day to RSVP for the Miracle on Main Street parade.
- The deadline for the Troop Holiday Party RSVP is this Saturday, December 9.
- And remember, next Wednesday, December 13, is your last chance to RSVP for the Zelienople Reindeer Race and Wreaths Across America service projects.
About Wreaths Across America
Speaking of Wreaths Across America, we were lucky to be joined by Mr. Cochran to learn more about the event. Here is a quick summary of what Wreaths Across America is all about.
This Week’s Events
Let’s close out today’s episode with a look at this week’s upcoming events:
- Join us tomorrow night for the Zelie Miracle on Main Street Parade. It’s always a fun and festive event!
- Next Tuesday’s meeting is our Troop Christmas party. Come hungry for pizza, and don’t forget your wrapped white elephant gift, which should not exceed $15. If you have holiday-themed games, feel free to bring those along for some extra fun.
That’s all for today’s ‘Scoutmaster Minute.’ Remember, Scouts, we’re part of a community that values leadership, service, and fellowship. Let’s continue to support each other in our Scouting adventures. Until next time, this is Mr. Maloney, signing off. Happy Scouting and Happy Holidays!
