Hello Troop 457 and welcome to a special edition of the Scoutmaster Minute podcast. Today, we are excited to celebrate a monumental achievement in the life of one of our Scouts, an achievement that marks not just the culmination of years of dedication and hard work but also the beginning of a lifetime of leadership and service.

Troop 457 is thrilled to congratulate ORION MILLER on passing his Board of Review and becoming our Troop’s 102nd Eagle Scout! Orion’s journey to Eagle is a story of commitment, perseverance, and the Scout spirit in action.

Orion started his Scouting adventure as a Cub Scout in 2012. He earned his Arrow of Light and crossed over into our Troop in 2017. Throughout his time as a Boy Scout, Orion has been a model of what it means to be an Eagle Scout. He earned 34 merit badges, attended National Youth Leadership Training, and served in numerous leadership roles, including serving as our Senior Patrol Leader for over a year and a half.

For his Eagle Scout project, Orion took on the significant task of building a new flag retirement pit at the Zelienople American Legion, a project that not only demonstrated his leadership skills but also his commitment to serving his community. This project will serve as a lasting contribution, honoring our nation’s flag and those who have served our country.

Today, we add Orion’s name to the Eagle Scout Wall of Honor on our Troop Website and welcome him to our “Soar” of Eagles. For those who might not know, a group of eagles is called a “soar,” and what a fitting term it is for our Eagles.

Orion, you are now part of a group that is 102 Scouts strong, a testament to the legacy, strength, and spirit of our Troop. We congratulate you on all your hard work throughout your Scouting career. As you prepare for your next adventure, including heading off to college next year, know that the skills, values, and lessons you’ve learned in Scouting will serve you well.

As you soar into the future, remember that the rank of Eagle Scout is not just an achievement to look back on with pride but also a commitment to carry forward the ideals of Scouting in your life ahead. We have no doubt that you will continue to lead, serve, and inspire those around you.

On behalf of all of us at Troop 457, congratulations to Orion Miller, our 102nd Eagle Scout! We are all incredibly proud of you and look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish in the years to come.
