Troop 457 holds two planning meetings (the Patrol Leaders Council and Parents Meetings) on the third Tuesday of every month.Β Consult TroopTrack for the date and time for each of these meetings.
Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) Meeting
The Patrol Leaders’ Council (PLC) in a Boy Scout Troop is a youth-led committee responsible for planning and organizing troop activities. Composed of Patrol Leaders and key youth positions like the Senior Patrol Leader, the PLC meets regularly to make decisions about the troop’s calendar and activities. Adult leaders provide guidance but do not control the council. The PLC operates democratically, fostering leadership development and responsibility among scouts, aligning with the principles of the Boy Scouts of America.
The primary role of the PLC is to plan and organize troop activities and meetings. This council is responsible for setting the troop’s calendar, planning the details of meetings and outings, and ensuring that the troop’s program is youth-led and aligns with the principles and objectives of the Boy Scouts of America.
