Happy October Troop 457!

It's hard to believe that we're over three quarters of the way done with the year.  It seems like just yesterday when we were on our ski trip and welcoming our latest Scouts into the Troop!  This month's newsletter has lots of updates for everyone, including:

  • Our November meeting schedule,
  • Information about our 2024 event plans,
  • Details about our upcoming Troop Elections,
  • A call for feedback on our proposed Troop Cell Phone Policy,
  • And more!

As part of my Scoutmaster's Minute, I want to talk a little bit about integrity.  To have integrity, we must make good values and standards our way of life.  Integrity isn't something we practice some of the time, and it isn't something we practice only when other people are watching.  Integrity means choosing the right and not choosing the wrong.  If a thing is right, it can and should be done; if wrong, it can and should be done without.

This month, I challenge our Scouts to reflect on what they are doing in and outside of our meetings.  Are you making decisions that show you're living the Scout Oath and Law?  Are you doing the right thing even if it is hard?

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Maloney

Scoutmaster
